On Saturday June 11th. 2011 I played for Sherri and Ian Sklar and 112 guests and family members at the Renaissance Hotel 17th street causeway. The afternoon started with a cocktail reception outside under a huge tent. I played steel drum music for the guests while they enjoyed cocktails and appetizers and mingled. We started the reception with a formal introduction of the bridal party to "The Way I Are" (intsr.) by Timbaland and then for the newlyweds it was "The Way You Make Me Feel" by Michael Jackson. Sherrie and Ian danced to a duet by Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder "For Once In My Life". Later I presented the father/daughter dance which was "You Are So Beautiful To Me" by Joe Cocker, and the groom/mother-in-law dance was "Unforgettable" by Natalie & Nat King Cole. The room was highlighted with a Name Gobo scrolled on the wall just above the bride & groom "Sherri and Ian" and I had my mini lazers coloring the ceiling over the dance floor. The atmosphere was festive the entire evening and the dance floor rolled all night long. I played Salsa, Hip Hop, Disco Classics, Top 40 club and a few ballads just to let everyone catch their breaths. For the cake cutting it was "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard and Ian removed the garter to the "Theme From Mission Impossible". Sherri tossed her bouquet to "Sexy Thing " by Hot Chocolate and the garter toss was "Macho Man" by the Village People! A friend and guest of Sherri's family, Nicole, sang live to "Boogie Oogie Oogie", the response was great. We ended the evening with "Time Of My Life" (Dirty Bit) and sent Sherri and Ian off to Paradise Island in the Bahamas! I reaaly enjoyed being a part of this special day....DJ/MC Eddie B
