Here I am at the Renaissance hotel in Plantation, Saturday April, 8th about to start the reception for Richie and Erica's Wedding! The two families are Spanish speaking and some do not speak any english so I say everything in Spanish first and then in English so that no one gets left behind. I lined up the bridal party right out side the grand ballroom and introduced them to Bruno Mars, Uptown funk. As they enter the guests go wild! They then take their seats and it is time for Erica and Richie's grand entrance. Once again I ask the guests to stand and make some noise as the newlyweds enter to Justin Timberlakes, I Got This Feeling. As they enter to thunderous applause and joyful screaming they make their way to the dance floor for their First Dance. They chose Luis Fonsi, Llegaste tu. It was adorable. Following the first dance, there were some heart felt speeches and a blessing that I helped organize and present, so I announced to the guests in both languages Bon Apetit and Buen provecho! After dinner it was time to do the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Erica chose Hija, by Abraham Velasquez and Richie chose Te amo Mama by Marco Antonio Solis. After the dances it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. I got everyone together for both and after the tosses we all found out who the next newlyweds were going to be. After the very fun and exciting tosses the time had come to cut the cake and then on to the party! Even though this was an afternoon wedding, the atmosphere was festive and fun!. I played a mixture of Salsa, Merengue and Reggaeton until the very end and the guests were on the dance floor all afternoon! Erica and Richie did not give me the last dance song because they had changed it, so I improvised and the song I chose was perfect, All Of Me by John Legend. It was a big hit! In closing I would like to wish Richie and Erica the best and it was a pleasure and honor to play for them on their special day. DJ/MC Cristian
