On Saturday I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Adrian and Kristina's wedding celebration.
It was held at the Sonesta on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. The room is awesome...overlooking the Atlantic ocean and 12 floors up. A great view!
As the guests entered for cocktail hour, I was asked to keep it fairly light. So I played some old style Brazilian Jazz and Bossa Nova sprinkled with some Frank Sinatra and his crew.. A great eclectic mix.
After that I asked the guests to make their way to the main ballroom. As I stated before it was overlooking the ocean and was decorated beautifully with lovely floral arrangements and lit up with LED up lighting provided by Eddie B & Company.
The bridal party entered with Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part 2" (the Hey Song).
Then Our newlyweds came into the room with Bruno Mars "Marry You" playing!
It went over great..
After that I invited them to dance the first dance "When you Say Nothing at All" by Alison Krauss. I followed up with the bridal dance. "Unforgettable" was played.
I then asked all of the guests to join the bride and groom on the dance floor. A virtual love fest! The floor was packed!
After that I asked the maid of Honor Trish and Best Man Lazaro to say a few words. It was very heartwarming.
Now I invited the guests to sit down for dinner. Again, I was instructed to keep it light. Some cool vocals, R and B and some old school tunes were on tap.
After dinner I invited Kristina and her dad to dance the Father/Daughter dance. "I loved her first" by Heartland was used. Then Adrian danced with his mom. They requested "Wind Beneath my wings" by Bette Midler.
I immediately invited all of the guests to dance after that and we got the party rolling.
From this point on it was full steam ahead! I played a lot of the requested songs.
Salsa, Merengue, Disco, 80's Rock and Roll and everything in between. If you could dance to it, I played it....and they danced!
A great time was had by all.
