Steve and Ulyana Willoughby celebrated their wedding at the historic Sundy House in Delray FL on 1/5/2013. For the ceremony and cocktail hour, Steve and Ulyana hired live musicians separate from Eddie B & Co. I was only hired for the 4 hour reception. During the cocktail hour I got a chance to talk with the happy couple who explained to me that this was going to be a more laid back/relaxed style wedding. There was going to be no parents dances, no garter/bouquet toss and only 50 guests. The highlight of the event was going to be the meal. They also provided me with a short play list that consisted of mostly smooth jazz, Rat Pack oldies and alternative tunes. Steve and Ulyana decided to dance to Make Someone Happy by Jimmy Durante for the first dance. They actually performed a very well choreographed dance for the guests to enjoy. After the first course was served, the maid of honor and best man gave the toasts, then Steve said a few words for his new bride and thanked everyone for attending. Steve was surprised that after the main course I started playing a few disco classics mixed in with classic rock and the dance floor got live. He was very happy that his friends and family really enjoyed the music and also made a few requests. After the cake cutting the event began to wind down and for the lasts songs I played Save The Last Dance for Me by Michael Buble, Last Dance by Donna Summer and New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. There is always a few NY'ers in the crowd!!! Congrats to Steve, Ulyana and the entire Willoughby family. Every once in a while it's nice to play at a laid back wedding with quality music to bring you back down to earth. Loved it!! DJ Ray
