Hello Party People!!! Yours truly DJ Keith Kilpatrick with another exciting edition of WOW that wedding rocked!!! The place...the world famous W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. The time...6:00 pm-12:00 am. The stars of the show...Dr. Sandra and Dr. Vincent McGinniss. Thats right...this wedding was awesome. We had a wonderful cocktail hour starting at 6:00 pm. The guest's were in good spirits and love was in the air. We played a great mix of the best jazz featuring Kenny G, and other superstars. Whle the guest's were getting served Hor D'oeuvres and Cocktails the new Bride and Groom were taking pictures in the breath taking hotel. Just prior to the announcement of the Bridal party the Bride Sandra, and the Groom Vincent came into the cocktail room to greet their guest's. As soon as they came in the place erupted with cheers and applause. It really felt like the hometeam scored a touchdown! Once all the family members and guest's gave there best wishes to the Bride and Groom, we took them outside to do the announcement of the bridal party. Everyone was put in the appropriate order. We announced the Bridal Party to The Black Eyed Peas I've got a feeling. The energy was in full throttle and the bridal party made there way onto the dance floor and lined up so the Bride Sandra and Groom Vincent could take center stage. The anticipation was built as each couple was announced. Once it was time we brought in the brand new Mr. and Mrs. (DR.) Vincent and Sandra McGinniss. The lovely couple danced there way on stage and into our hearts. We went into the first dance It's your love by Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill. After the first dance Sandra the Bride did the Father/Daughter with her Dad, Norm. They danced to I loved her first by Heartland. They did a great job and you could see how proud Norm was of Sandra. After the Father/Daughter dance we did the Mother/Son dance. The Groom Vincent danced with his Mother Cheryl. They decided to break tradition and danced to Celia Cruz's Carnival...a Salsa dance! Everyone laughed and then we went right into the cake cutting! Cake before dinner...brilliant! We played Moments by Kenny G, the Bride Sandra fed the Groom Vincent and Vincent was kind enough to return the favor. They actaully did not smear the cake every where. Next, we had Trevor...our guest MC give a wonderful, very funny toast and dinner began! During the dinner hour Trevor gave nice pieces of advice to the newly weds and delivered it with the comedic timing of a true pro. We also had the rest of the speeches during dinner. This approach worked very well. It made the dinner entertaining and fun and gave us more time to dance. Right after dinner Sandra and Vincent took the spot light and gave each other heart felt speeches to commemorate this special occasion. There is one thing that really stood out at this wedding...it was the geniune love each family had for each other and the respect for one another. This is not to say other weddings do not share this trait...however this time in particular...it really stood out. After the speeches we did the garter removal to I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred. Now it was the girls chance to catch the bouquet...a little song by Beyonce called Single Ladies. The funny part about this is everyone at the wedding was married or in a relationship! So the men just kept the garter and the women the bouquet. Now the dancing begins...they danced all night! Not even ten minutes into the dance set they asked me to stay an extra hour. This is always a very good sign. It was a great mix of top 40, classics, dance and rock and roll!!! You know the party is off the chain when evryone is on the dance floor, shoes off, jackets off, ties loosened, and they are singing the hooks of every song we played! What a fantastic party we had! I want to thank Sandra and Vincent for allowing me to take one of the most important days of thier lives and trusting me in delivering the dream reception! I also want to thank Trevor for keeping dinner light, fun and comical. I want to wish the McGinnis family all the best in there amazing future together.
