Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the wedding Blog. On Saturday, September 28th, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Duane and David as they celebrated their union of marriage. The ceremony and reception was at the Tower Club located in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. This location is EPIC! It is located on the 28th floor of the building. Overlooking the entire city, the ocean, and the intracoastal waterway! As the guests entered for the ceremony, I was asked to play music from the 2Cellos and Vitamin String Quartet. The wedding party entered to "Pachabel" and the the grooms entered together to "Marry Me" by Jason DeRulo. The ceremony started and both Duane and David prepared vows for each other. Very touching.
The nuptials were sealed with a kiss while "Mozart" was played for the exit song.
Cocktail hour was now held and I played some light EDM sounds, per both grooms requests.
Once that ended, I asked the guests to enter the ballroom. It was illuminated with Royal Blue Up-lights, provided by Eddie B & Company. It really looked beautiful.
I proceeded to introduce the happy couple into the ballroom. Thunderous applause was heard throughout. Once the guests were settled in, I asked Dennis, a very close friend to say a few words. Then Duane's dad Felix wished his son and husband a wonderful life together. Soon after that Duane and David spoke and welcomed everyone to the event! Now dinner is served. I played a mix of Latin, Light vocal and classics. All were special requests from Duane and David per the list of songs provided.
Once dinner ended, I asked David and Duane to dance their first dance. They chose "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri. Then Duane danced with mom, while David danced with his sister. They requested "Over The Rainbow" by Israel K. It was a perfect segue to get the party started. I was asked to keep close to the music requests provided. So, that is exactly what I did. The majority of the songs were Latin. Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton and the like.
Now I asked Duane and David to step over to the cake table for the traditional cutting of the cake. I played "Sugar" by Maroon 5. I then was asked to have all the single ladies come on the dance floor for the bouquet toss. It went over great!
Now I got the rest of the guests back on the dance floor and we danced the rest of the evening.
Congrats to Duane and David!!!
