Chris and Silvia's wedding reception at the W in Ft. Lauderdale on Nov 3rd
Chris and Silvia's wedding reception was held at the W in Ft. Lauderdale inside the Mingle Room on November 3rd. Brian, from Eddie B & Company provided the Steel Drum music for cocktail hour. The room was brought to life by blush colored LED up lighting at the bride and groom’s request, matching perfectly with their floral centerpieces and complimenting their champagne tablecloths. A customized monogram also provided by Eddie B and Company shined brightly in the middle of the dance floor with Chris and Silvia’s name. Steve Kornick was next to me on percussion with tons of awesome instruments to play along with the music I was playing and give the guests an entertaining show. As the guests began to enter the room, I played a mix of alternative pop hits while everyone was finding their seats before the grand entrance. After some pictures it was time to introduce the bridal party and the newlyweds. The guests were encouraged to get really loud as I welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs. Wilson as they walked in to Raise Your Glass by Pink. The cheering continued as I invited them to the middle of the floor for their first dance. Chris and Silvia embraced each other as I played Is That Alright by Lady Gaga. Silvia’s brother was invited soon after to join his sister in their first dance to En Lo Bueno y En Lo Malo by Pimpinella followed by Chris and his mother Barbara to I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Wolmack. After the first dances, the Best Man, Maid of Honor, and Mother of the groom shared very heart-warming toasts before I invited everyone to their seats for their first dinner course, while I played some flamenco jazz. After dinner, we kicked the party off with a very entertaining garter and bouquet toss, followed by a boys vs. girls battle where the groomsmen teamed up to performed a song by the Backstreet Boys in which the ladies responded with their own rendition of Britney Spears. After that we continued the party while I played a mix of Reggaeton, merengue and dance party favorites for all the guests to enjoy. Steve and I kept the energy really high and even had a few guests come up on stage to try out the conga drums. I closed everything out to Closing Time by Semisonic as we all sang along before ending the evening. Congratulations to Chris and Silvia Wilson. I had a blast with you and your awesome family. DJ ELOW
