Katelyn (Katie) and Michael Thielen celebrated their wedding at the Westin Hotel and Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 5/20/2017. The ceremony took place at a nearby church and the cocktail hour was held outdoors by the pool deck. We were only hired for the 4 hour reception. Before all of the approximate 70 guests entered the ballroom I decorate the ballroom with 12 amber colored, LED, wireless up-lights all provided by Eddie B & Company. So as all of the guests found their seats I lined up the 11 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Katie chose Good Time by Owl City for the bridal party entrance and Beautiful Day by U2 for her and Michael's entrance. The first dance was to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri then Katie danced with her dad to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. The toasts were given by Erin (maid of honor) and Jorge (best man) then Katie's dad Mr. May gave the welcoming speech. The first of a 3 course meal was served and the reception was underway. Katie provided me with a list of genres and asked me to do what I do best. I played a mix of top 40, country, 80s and 90s dance hits and classic rock. Perfect mix for this group!! They had a blast on the dance floor and as the night progressed we did have a cake cutting and the bouquet toss. Katie's mom Mrs. May made a special request for Caught Up In You by 38 Special for all of the 80s fans. The last song for the evening was Closing Time by Semisonic as all of the guests gathered on the dance floor with the happy couple. Congrats to Katie, Michael and the entire Thielen and May families.
Special thanks to the staff and management at the Westin Hotel for their excellent service!!
