Diana and Paul Escaleira celebrated their wedding at the Wyndham Resorts in Deerfield Beach on 12/30/2011. The ceremony was held on the beach just a few blocks from the hotel. It was a beautiful day to get married on the beach. As the guests arrived to the cocktail hour they were greeted by the outside pool deck with appetizers, drinks and a mix of tropical and Portuguese style music. Paul and Diana are both of Portuguese descent so when Diana provided me with the list of songs there were a few Portuguese songs that most definitely had to be played that night. As everyone was directed into the reception area I lined the bridal party up for the grand entrance. The bridal party entered to I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas and Paul and Diana entered to Leo Leo Le Hay Golpe by Tambor Urbano. The place was rockin' as they entered, everyone was so excited!! Paul and Diana danced to Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. Diana and her dad danced to De Nina A Mujer by Julio Iglesias and Paul danced with his mom to Con Los Anos Que Me Quedan by Gloria Estefan. Carla and Manuela the 2 maids of honor made two wonderful speeches and then the buffet style dinner was ready for all the guests. During dinner Diana requested that I play some soft jazz and of course some more Portuguese favorites and the guests were loving it. After dinner the dance floor opened up and everyone got a chance to dance to some oldies, top 40, merengue, salsa, bachata and classic dance music. The mix worked perfectly with this crowd as they just did not stop dancing. Right after the anniversary dance and the cake cutting, Diana requested a song that she always dreamed about singing at her wedding. The song is called O Gente da Minha Terra by Mariza it means People from My Home Town. She nailed it...everyone was on their feet!! The garter/bouquet toss was next then of course more dancing. At one point of the evening with about 45 minutes left in the party the entire room cleared out. It was just me and the table and chairs. As I went out to investigate I realized that everyone went to the pool to witness the groom and all of the groomsmen jumping into the pool with their suites on. A few minutes later everyone came back inside to resume the partying. They all danced till the end and the last song of the evening was Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble. Congrats to the Galvao and Escaleira families they are an amazing group of fun upbeat people. To Diana and Paul I am so glad I was a part of your special day. And of course to the staff at the Wyndham Resort it is always a pleasure working with true professionals. Happy New Year!!! DJ Ray
