Good Day bloggers!!!
DJ Gregg with this weeks installment of the WEDDING BLOG....
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Matthew and Libby on their wedding day! The reception was held at The Farmer's Table in Boca Raton. This venue is really nice and features a great atmosphere!
The cocktail hour was held in the lobby. I kept the mood light playing some funky background music. The guests enjoyed some gourmet hor'dourves and drinks. The atmosphere was festive and inviting.
After the cocktail hour, I invited the guests into the ballroom. It looked great, decorated with Royal Blue up lighting provided by Eddie B. & Company.
To introduce the bridal party, I was asked to play" Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. Then Libby and Matthew entered with "Let's Get This Party Started" by The Black Eyed Peas.
The room ignited with applause and everyone rose to their feet! I then asked Matthew to take Libby's hand and escort her to the center of the dance floor.
Their first dance was " L.O.V.E" by Nat King Cole. After a thunderous applause, I invited Lisa to dance with her dad. They chose "My Girl" by The Temptations.
I then invited them to take a seat. During this time, I invited Sally, the Maid Of Honor, Pam, the mother of the bride, and Jim, the father of the groom to say a few words and toast to Libby and Matt.
Now dinner was served..
I played some special requests for Libby and Matt, including some old school tunes, Standards, and Light vocals.
As soon as dinner was over, I got the party started..
Everyone was ready to go! It was a really fun crowd and the dance floor was packed the entire evening.
I was able to play music from all genres and eras. The crowd especially liked top 40, oldies and 80's
It was a mixed crowd and everyone was having a great time.
I then invited our newlyweds to cut the cake... I played "Cut The Cake" by Average White Band. Shortly after that I did the Bouquet toss. I played "Single Ladies" by Beyonce' and the garter toss was done using "Let's get it on" by Marvin Gaye.
It went over great and it was a lot of fun.
Now, I got back into the party and we danced the rest of the evening!
It was a really great party and I wish Libby and Matt a wonderful life together!
