Wedding Reception In Islamorada

There are nights the ocean seems to write the script — Sunday, 2/22/2026 in Islamorada was one of them. I had the honor of DJing a surprise wedding at a private home overlooking the Atlantic, where guests gathered on a dock for a tender, slightly religious ceremony: prayers, vows, Cannon walking in D with the bride beside her father, the “I do,” and that sealed kiss. Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” carried them back down the aisle into a cocktail hour of bossa nova, Latin jazz, and unexpected Russian dance pockets. After a warm dinner and a heartfelt toast to Kira and Dimitri, the couple’s first dance lit up the dock; I called out “krasivo” and the groom flashed a surprised thumbs-up as everyone cheered. We closed the night with Sinatra for the cake cutting and nonstop dancing under the stars — an intimate, joyful celebration I was proud to soundtrack. DJ Jerry O
