Yvonne and Cornell Lawson celebrated their dream wedding on 3/31/2013 at the Delray Beach Golf Club in Delray Beach FL with an amazing ceremony and reception. This event began with an outdoor ceremony on the golf course in front of 85 friends and family members. Yvonne's mom and big brother walked her down the isle to You For Me by Johnny Gil as Cornell looked on with anticipation. After the happy couple sealed their love with a kiss they walked back up the isle to At Last by Etta James. Most of the guests were invited to an outdoor cocktail hour while other remained at the ceremony area for pictures with the bride and groom. Yvonne chose a mix of reggae, r&b and smooth jazz for the cocktail hour music. At this point it was time for the grand entrance and the reception in the main ballroom which was decorated with 20 lavender color up-lights and dance floor lights for ambiance. They were included in Yvonne and Cornell's 6 hour classic wedding package provided by Eddie B & Co. The guests entered the main ballroom while I lined up the 23 member bridal party. Yvonne chose Jook With Me (fast version) by Ball Greezy and Charlie Reed as the intro song for the bridal party and also for her and Cornell. The big surprise for the guests was the first dance. Yvonne and Cornell asked me to mix a few songs for them for the first dance so they can show off their dancing skills. I mixed 30 seconds or so of Forever Ain't Enough by J. Holiday, End of Time by Beyonce, You're a Jerk by The New Boyz, Soulja Boy Tell'Em and Walk It Out by DJ Unk. The bridal party also joined in for some of the dances and it turned out perfect. After the first dance Cornell danced with his mom to A Song For Mama by Boyz II Men. The toasts were given by Ludy (maid of honor) and Terry (best man) then Yvonne's brother Howard gave the blessing of the meal. The first of 3 courses was being served and the reception started of with a bang. After dinner the dance floor heated up as most of the guests were anxious to dance. Yvonne provided me with a short play list and told me to have fun with her guests because they love to dance. I played a mix of top 40, classic R&B, Reggae, Hip-Hop and of course a few group dances. They danced to the Cha Cha Slide, The Cupid Shuffle, The Wobble, The Electric Slide and The Mississippi Slide. Yvonne and Cornell did cut the wedding cake and we had a garter/bouquet toss. The highlight of the evening was when Yvonne and Cornell played the shoe game. This is when they sit back to back on the dance floor with each others shoe in their hands and answer questions to see how well they know each other. Everyone got a big kick out of that. The last songs for the evening were We Found Love by Rihanna and Firework by Katy Perry. Congrats to Yvonne, Cornell and the entire Fable, Bright, Chance, Woodcock and Lawson families. I love to see people dance and have fun and this wedding had it all. Special thanks to the management and staff at the Delray Beach Golf Club for always making the bride happy and comfortable.
